Powerwall is a small home battery that stores solar energy for dark or cloudy days, reducing dependency on the grid. Since its debut in April 2015, Tesla has provided many Powerwall versions. The Tesla Powerwall 2 differs from the original as it has a sleeker design, is easier to install, and is more user-friendly. This system has a continuous power rating of up to 5.8 kW and a peak power rating of up to 7 kW. The battery storage capacity of the Powerwall 2 and Powerwall+ is the same (13.5 kWh). However, the Powerwall+ adds an inverter for a simpler connection with solar PV panels. The Tesla Powerwall 3 is yet to be released.
